This month's Decluttering Challenge is Cords & Electronics! This is simultaneously my worst favorite challenge and one of my favorite challenges. Why? Raise your hand if you love hunting through cords and untangling them to find the right one that fits. It’s basically the Cinderella story but without Prince Charming. I’m willing to guess you didn’t raise your hand. Now, imagine you went to run errands and a magical little fairy tidied up all your cords and paired them with every device you own while you were gone. Feel better? That’s the good part, and it’s possible!
Gather all of your cords and devices, get yourself some labels, and dig out your favorite Sharpie. For the next hour you are going to play the match game to see what cord goes where and you are going to label it. Toss aside the cords that you aren’t sure that you “might need someday” and give those babies a date and time to meet their match. If they don’t, you can let them go.
Another Quick Decluttering Tip: Keep all of your cords together if at all possible so you know exactly where to find them, or consider building your own Charging Station.
